Seagulls. Their bodies, beaks, and feet are made from Queen Palm seed pods. The legs are cut from Palmetto stems. Painted with acrylics and sealed with multiple coats of acrylic sealer.

Art E. Deco, Peggy’s first art deco style giraffe, is created from a Royal Palm Tree frond with a mane from a Foxtail Palm leaf. His base coat is a brilliant metallic gold acrylic, covered by black “spots” using an art deco rectangle motif.

Great blue heron. Palm tree fronds and their soft edges are used to create the body and feathers of the magnificent heron. Acrylic paints complete the piece.

Flora Flamingo. All feathers are created from the soft edges of palm fronds. Neck and head are fashioned from papier-mâché with an armature of recycled foil. Acrylic paints and sealer complete the piece.

This starfish is created from five Queen Palm tree seedpods, mitre-cut to create the classic starfish shape. Peggy then created the “bumps” on its legs and applied acrylic paints using a special techniques she’s developed to keep the shape of the paints’ “bubbles”.
